Dreams and Visions about The Future
Many people in the past have experienced what were thought to be dreams and visions of the End Times. The writings of such men as Nostradamus and others were said by some to give insight into the darkened "glass" of the future. (1 Cor. 13:12) But, who can claim to have true knowledge about the future? Can the future actually be known ahead of time?
Most people feel an inner desire to know what will happen to them in the future. Will there be an "End of Time"? If there will be such an end, when will it take place? In order to help answer such questions, we must look at what the Bible says on these subjects, since the Bible gives us many prophesies concerning the End Times.
John wrote the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. The prophet Daniel wrote the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament, many hundreds of years earlier. Both of these men wrote for us about what the future course of the world would be. They both wrote about what would happen, because God had given them dreams and visions.
One day the Antichrist, (Anti-Christ), will come on the scene, as prophesied by the Bible in the Book of Revelation, and in many other books of the Bible, such as the Book of Daniel. People over the years have claimed that this man or that man was the Antichrist. Although many such conjectures have been made during these past two thousand years of history, all of these supposed "Antichrists" have invariably died without actually becoming "The Beast".
But who is the Antichrist? Will he reign until the End of Time? It is not possible for anyone to know who the Antichrist is for sure until the Antichrist does one particularly wicked act. This act will then reveal that he is indeed The Antichrist. This act will be when the Antichrist enters into the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem and then pollutes it by placing an image of himself there:
"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." (Daniel 9:27)
"And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate." (Daniel 11:31)
Jesus himself mentioned this prophesy by the Prophet Daniel, which Jesus referred to as "the abomination of desolation". Jesus declared that this act would become the start of what is referred to as the "Great Tribulation":
"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Matthew 24:15-22)
The unveiling of the Antichrist will be proceeded by a period time of great deception and a falling away from Biblical truth - a time referred to as the "Great Apostasy". During this Great Apostasy, the various religious leaders of the world will start to dialogue and link up together into a great Ecumenical Movement, as they move back towards the Roman Catholic Church, (also called the "Great Whore" in Revelation 17:1). The Roman Catholic Church, together with the Antichrist, will then start murdering all true Christians much as Koran-believing Muslims now do to Christians in obedience to the teachings of Mohammad. (Koran: "Strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them." - Sura 47:4)
The Bible says:
"So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth." (Revelation 17: 3-9)
The Antichrist will force all, both great and small, to take a mark on their right hand or forehead, the mark of "666". Those who refuse this mark will be beheaded, or otherwise killed. Then there will be a seven year period of Great tribulation, in which God's Two Witnesses will preach to the world. At the end of this seven-year period, Jesus will return to the Earth to kill the Antichrist and set up his Kingdom on Earth.
Although many Bapticatholics, New Evangelicals, and others today are unashamed to link up with the Roman Catholic Church, they will at that time have their heads cut off by the Antichrist and by his Roman Catholic "Whore". They will be killed unless they have already died, have been raptured, or else have taken the "Mark of the Beast" (having therefore given themselves over to eternal judgment and damnation in the flames of Hell).
But who is this Antichrist? We will know in the day when he enters into the Temple in Jerusalem and then pollutes it. Please keep in mind though that this Temple in Jerusalem has not as yet been rebuilt. Therefore, such an act by the Antichrist must come some time in the future . There are billions of people living in the world today. Is the Antichrist one of them? We just cannot know for sure who the Antichrist is at this time.
Nevertheless, the Antichrist will reign for only a few short years. Jesus Christ will then come back from Heaven to the Earth, destroy the Antichrist, and then reign over the Earth. This reign by Jesus over the Earth will last for one thousand years. After these thousand years are completed, God will destroy this present Heavens and Earth and replace them with new Heavens and a new Earth. Then time as we know it now will be no more, because we will then be living in Eternity.
The Bible contains the only reliable record of dreams and visions of the End Times. These visions came from God, and God is the only one who actually knows for sure what will happen in the future. Nevertheless, the End Times are coming. Are you ready? If you are not ready, then prepare now for those awful things which will soon be coming upon the Earth. There is only one way to prepare. You need to Trust Jesus. Prepare now before it is too late.
